Mr. Sheehan has practiced law for more than 30 years, nearly exclusively in the area of family law. He has handled numerous adoptions, both national and international, and also has expertise in drafting surrogacy agreements.
With hundreds of trials under his belt, he is well able to assess your case and discuss both the in-court and out-of-court options. Ultimately, the information you need to make an informed decision about your case depends largely on consideration of what the most likely results would be in court. If faced with an unreasonable and entrenched adversary, it’s comforting to know that Mr. Sheehan’s extensive trial experience will serve you well in the courtroom.
After working and living in the Washington, D.C. area for 15 years, Mr. Sheehan moved his family to the great state of Idaho in 2005 – in part, to escape the big city rat race. His wide variety of experiences in three different jurisdictions – Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Idaho, provide a broad understanding of differences in judicial attitudes on both sides of the Mississippi. This experience allows Mr. Sheehan to advocate your case in light of the prevailing attitudes of the particular judge assigned to your case. Does the judge assigned to the case make a difference in terms of approach to be taken and outcome? Absolutely!
Mr. Sheehan is the father of three adult children having divorced following 20 years of marriage.
Mr. Sheehan has been a fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys since 2010 and he is the only attorney in the state of Idaho with both Adoption and ART designations.
