Our goal is to bring together Birth Mothers
and adoptive couples to make the adoption
process a positive experience.
Medical science now offers more alternatives to
building families than ever before.
Mr. Sheehan practices mostly, and almost exclusively, family law. Why? Because the simple reality is that no lawyer can practice in many areas of law and practice them well. The single biggest mistake clients make is hiring a lawyer who claims that he or she can handle any type of legal work. Family law is different than all other areas of law because we deal with human relationships which will endure long after the particular legal issue is over.
For example, what if a Birth Mother wants to be able to connect with her adopted child as an adult? To what degree should adoptions be open? Does a Birth Mother need to include or want to include the Birth Father in the process? When and how should a Birth Mother meet and communicate with an adoptive couple regarding an adoption plan?
Mr. Sheehan has practiced law for more than 30 years, nearly exclusively in the area of family law. He has handled numerous adoptions, both national and international, and also has expertise in drafting surrogacy agreements.
With hundreds of trials under his belt, he is well able to assess your case and discuss both the in-court and out-of-court options. Ultimately, the information you need to make an informed decision about your case depends largely on consideration of what the most likely results would be in court. If faced with an unreasonable and entrenched adversary, it’s comforting to know that Mr. Sheehan’s extensive trial experience will serve you well in the courtroom.
